Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Canada Greener Homes Loan, applicants must:

• Be a Canadian resident owning an eligible property (single-family homes, townhouses, or semi-detached homes) that serves as their primary residence.

• Have completed a pre-retrofit EnerGuide evaluation on or after April 1, 2020

• Ensure that the planned retrofits have not commenced before the evaluation and are recommended by an energy advisor.

Application Process

1. Complete a Pre-Retrofit EnerGuide Evaluation: Engage a certified energy advisor to assess your home’s energy performance.

2. Review Retrofit Recommendations: Based on the evaluation, identify eligible upgrades that align with the program’s guidelines.​

3. Apply for the Loan: Submit your application through the official Canada Greener Homes Loan portal.​
